Consumer Buyer

About the role

The Consumer Buyer will shape and execute the commercial strategy for our core Front‑of‑Shop categories. Working closely with retail, sales and operations teams, you will ensure the right products are sourced, priced and presented to maximise sales and margin.

Key responsibilities

• Develop commercial and promotional strategies for core categories.
• Represent the Consumer team at weekly trade meetings and supplier events.
• Collaborate with Retail, Sales and Operations to source best‑in‑class products and manage planogram roll‑outs.
• Analyse category performance using BI tools and provide insights to senior management.
• Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate Joint Business Plans and ensure compliance.
• Manage stock levels for Healthcare categories, addressing dead, over‑stocked or dated inventory.
• Build and maintain a robust promotions calendar and update category plans.
• Communicate commercial strategies across all internal channels and support board‑level reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a buying role, preferably within pharmacy or consumer retail.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, diverse environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience using Microsoft Word.
• Familiarity with BI reporting suites for performance analysis.
