Control Room Operator

About the role

Join the Motorway Operations Control Centre (MOCC) to monitor 1,200 km of motorways, tunnels and national roads for Transport Infrastructure Ireland. You will work in a state‑of‑the‑art control room, responding to incidents and ensuring safe, smooth traffic flow.

Key responsibilities

• React swiftly to accidents, emergencies and traffic incidents on the national motorway network and the Dublin Tunnel.
• Work a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern, providing 24/7 coverage.
• Use advanced traffic‑management technology to identify, analyse and regulate traffic patterns.
• Collaborate with emergency services, contractors and other stakeholders for prompt incident response.
• Issue clear instructions to drivers via variable message signs and social‑media channels.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and produce detailed reports.
• Ensure all actions comply with ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant customer‑service experience.
• Strong attention to detail and high motivation.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering concise instructions.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Organisational skills for managing logs and reports.
• Prior experience in a control‑room or traffic‑management environment is advantageous.
