Controls Governance & ESG – Dublin

About the role

This position is responsible for assessing the integrity and effectiveness of Barclays' internal control framework. The role supports risk mitigation and protects the bank’s operational, financial and reputational standing.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business areas, products, processes and platforms to evaluate risk exposure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to improve control effectiveness and document assessments.
• Identify, investigate and prioritise potential control weaknesses for continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports communicating findings, control gaps and recommendations to control owners and senior management.
• Execute reviews to ensure internal controls align with evolving policies, regulations and best practices.
• Implement adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and apply appropriate assessment methodologies.

Required profile

• Experience in governance, legal entity management or SEAR.
• Demonstrated risk or control experience, preferably within a banking environment.
• Background in ESG, data analytics, data governance or compliance.
• Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and ability to work with digital and technology solutions.
