Customer Service Assistant – Retail (Cork City)

About the role

We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our retail shop in Cork City Centre. You will deliver a friendly, knowledgeable service to customers while supporting the Shop Manager in daily operations. The role combines front‑of‑house customer interaction with cash handling and shop opening/closing duties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager with day‑to‑day store operations.
• Open and close the shop, ensuring all procedures are followed.
• Accept and process customer bets through betting terminals and the EPOS system.
• Manage cash, perform cash‑handling procedures and reconcile tills.
• Maintain high shop presentation standards and ensure compliance with safety and social responsibility policies.
• Act as a brand ambassador, promoting in‑shop and online betting products.
• Step in to lead the team in the absence of the manager, guiding staff and handling operational issues.

Required profile

• Customer‑service oriented with a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Reliable, organised and able to work under pressure.
• Interest in sport and betting events, with the ability to build rapport with customers.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Integrity and trustworthiness in handling cash and sensitive information.

Required skills

• Experience using EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) systems.
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail for accurate cash handling.
