Customer Service Representative – Road Logistics

About the role

DACHSER is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join its Road Logistics team in Rathcoole, Dublin on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. The role acts as a vital link between customers, sales, the network and operations, ensuring high‑quality service and strong professional relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a clear understanding of customer requirements and consistently meet or exceed expectations.
• Proactively monitor shipment lead times across Domestic, European and UK operations, identifying potential delays and collaborating with operations to minimise disruptions.
• Produce daily reports, resolve shipment discrepancies and issue performance reports to customers when service issues arise.
• Manage customer complaints with empathy, taking ownership to resolve issues efficiently.
• Respond promptly to internal and external queries via phone, email and internal systems, focusing on first‑time resolution.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, and monitor value‑added service requests.
• Upsell and capture value‑added service charges to maximise revenue.
• Collaborate with colleagues and internal stakeholders to consistently achieve service levels.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a fast‑paced environment, preferably logistics or a customer‑facing role.
• Own transport is essential as the site is not connected to public transport.
• Strong organisational and administration abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to diffuse difficult situations.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset and reliable work ethic.
