Cyber Risk Manager – 12‑month contract (Hybrid)

About the role

This is a 12‑month temporary contract for a Cyber Risk Manager working on a hybrid model. The role reports to the Head of Governance, Risk and Controls and leads the Cyber Risk Team within the Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance function of a public‑sector organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mature the organisation’s cyber risk management capability.
• Identify, assess, treat and report cyber risks in line with the NIS2 directive and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Oversee and quality‑assure cyber risk assessments, ensuring consistent methodology and timely escalation of material risks.
• Develop and maintain a cyber risk management programme of work and review existing practices.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, digital and executive stakeholders to protect patient data and critical health services.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing cyber risks, preferably within the health sector.
• Proven experience leading a cyber risk, information security risk or technology risk function, including staff management and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct risk identification, analysis, assessment and to recommend mitigation actions.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory obligations such as NIS2 and industry best‑practice frameworks.
