Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

The Cyber Security Analyst will join EirGrid’s Enterprise Security team to protect the organisation’s critical infrastructure. Working within the Security Operations function, you will monitor, detect, analyse and respond to cyber threats across a range of technical platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Security Operations Manager and Enterprise Security team in delivering programme objectives.
• Optimise and maintain security operational solutions for event data collection, systems monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, perimeter defences, enterprise password management and network infrastructure (email/web gateways).
• Respond to escalated security incidents from the Tier 1 SOC, performing advanced analysis, remediation and stakeholder coordination.
• Develop, document and continuously improve operational procedures, driving automation where possible.
• Assist in periodic cyber‑security tabletop simulations and contribute to the design of new security solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security operations, incident response and vulnerability management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with IT, engineering and business teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
