Cybersecurity & AI Governance Lead

About the role

The Cybersecurity & AI Governance Lead is responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s digital assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding the safe adoption of AI technologies. This senior position combines cybersecurity leadership with AI risk oversight to create a secure, value‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enforce a comprehensive cybersecurity framework, including MFA, role‑based access, and endpoint protection.
• Manage external security providers such as SOCs and testing firms, and lead incident response activities.
• Conduct risk, vulnerability, and SaaS vendor security assessments, ensuring compliance with GDPR, NIS2 and other regulations.
• Maintain security policies, risk registers, access logs, and asset inventories, reporting posture to senior leadership.
• Define and enforce AI usage policies, evaluate AI tools for data risk and security, and approve safe AI deployments.
• Identify AI opportunities across systems, lead implementation of tools like Copilot, and advise on use‑case risk mitigation.
• Ensure strong data governance, protecting resident, staff, and operational data.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years of experience in IT or cybersecurity with a proven track record in leadership and governance.
• Deep knowledge of GDPR, data protection, and emerging security regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot) and understanding of associated risks.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical risks for non‑technical stakeholders.
