Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

You will act as a trusted security advisor for a portfolio of clients, turning threat intelligence into clear, actionable steps. The position involves leading incident response, delivering security workshops, and building lasting client relationships, all within a supportive mentoring culture and without on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for client security incidents.
• Analyse logs and events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Deliver workshops and provide security best‑practice guidance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to MDR service improvement.
• Lead technical reporting and produce client‑facing documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• 3+ years in systems, network, or cloud administration.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Based in Ireland or an EU citizen with a Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G; spousal work permits accepted.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS and firewalls.
• Windows, Linux and Unix hardening.
• Cloud security knowledge for AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and NIST frameworks.
