Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Workday is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join its Network Security team. You will design, implement, and operate security controls that protect customer data environments across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and private cloud infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate network security controls such as web application firewalls for customer data environments.
• Advise other Workday business units on secure implementation of services and infrastructure.
• Partner with the information security team to ensure policy compliance and address security gaps.
• Operate data centers and cloud environments globally, continuously improving security posture.
• Deliver scalable security solutions, improve platform resilience, and leverage AI/agents to accelerate security operations.

Required profile

• Strong interest in network and cloud security challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively with distributed, virtual teams across the US and EU.
• Curious, optimistic mindset and willingness to take risks in a fast‑moving environment.

Required skills

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of web application firewalls (WAF).
• Solid understanding of network security concepts and controls.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices.
