Data Analyst & Power BI Developer (6‑month contract)

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Data Analyst / Power BI Developer to join a 6‑month contract delivering enterprise reporting and analytics on a modern cloud‑based data platform. The role will involve data analysis, dashboard development, testing and close collaboration with business stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and translate business requirements into reporting specifications.
• Analyse, validate and reconcile data sets in a cloud data warehouse using SQL.
• Design, build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Enhance data models, semantic layers and calculations to support self‑service analytics.
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing, logging defects and supporting resolution.
• Investigate and resolve day‑to‑day data and reporting issues with technical and business teams.
• Support data governance, quality controls and documentation of specifications and test evidence.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs and drive data adoption.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to work on complex data sets.
• Hands‑on experience creating Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience with cloud‑based data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Good understanding of data modelling and reporting best practices.
• Experience supporting UAT and system testing.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
