Data Center Technician – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term in Dublin

About the role

We are looking for a Data Center Technician to join a leading technology client’s operations team in Dublin on a 6‑month fixed‑term basis. You will be the primary technical resolver for hardware infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of servers, storage, networking and cabling within a fast‑paced data centre environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot server, storage and networking hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and infrastructure issues.
• Perform system health checks, preventative maintenance and safety compliance.
• Support structured cabling (copper and fiber‑optic) and manage patch panels.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with asset management.
• Act as first escalation point for junior technicians and provide technical guidance.
• Support remote system administration and automate routine tasks through scripting.
• Execute small technical projects independently and contribute to larger initiatives.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with server, storage and networking hardware.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Understanding of data‑center power, cooling and rack systems.
• Experience with structured cabling and fiber‑optic connections.
• Basic to intermediate Linux and/or Windows administration skills.
• Ability to work independently in a physically demanding environment.
