Decontamination Technician

About the role
The Decontamination Technician provides a comprehensive re‑processing service for reusable medical devices used across theatres, wards and clinics. You will work with a range of specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, ENT, ophthalmic, gynaecology and urology, ensuring that all equipment is safely cleaned, decontaminated and ready for patient use.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and monitor decontamination equipment to clean and sterilise reusable medical devices.
- Follow strict infection‑control protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of processed items and equipment performance.
- Participate in shift work, including night shifts, to meet service demands.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of decontamination processes.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic, hardworking and able to work flexibly across varying shift patterns.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality patient‑focused service.
- Willingness to undergo a one‑year in‑house training programme.
