About the role

The Deli Assistant role at Centra Roscommon focuses on preparing high‑quality hot and cold deli products while ensuring customer satisfaction is the top priority. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, supporting the fresh‑food sections and interacting directly with shoppers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders across all fresh‑food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes, and sliced meats.
• Cook, assemble, and display deli items throughout the day, adhering to portion‑control measures.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation for all fresh‑food counters.
• Share product knowledge, recipes, and personal recommendations to enhance the customer experience.
• Handle customer queries efficiently and professionally in line with store policy.
• Uphold Centra’s brand values of being proud, energetic, imaginative, and community‑based.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous customer‑service experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Capable of multitasking under pressure.
• Passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers.

Required skills

• HACCP training (desirable but not mandatory).
