Deputy General Manager

About the role

The Galmont Hotel & Spa, a 275‑room four‑star property in Ireland, is looking for a Deputy General Manager to support the General Manager in driving operational excellence and guest satisfaction. Reporting directly to the GM, you will help shape strategy, lead department heads and ensure the hotel delivers its high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in overall hotel management and act on their behalf when required.
• Lead, mentor and develop Heads of Department to achieve operational excellence across all areas.
• Maintain the highest standards of guest service, product quality and presentation.
• Drive accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement, monitoring operational efficiencies.
• Oversee people leadership initiatives, including talent development, succession planning and employee engagement.
• Support commercial and financial targets by analysing P&L reports, managing budgets and identifying revenue‑maximising opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, food safety and brand standards, and champion sustainability practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑4 years’ experience in a Deputy General Manager, Operations Manager or equivalent senior role within a large hotel.
• Strong operational knowledge of all hotel departments, especially Food & Beverage.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate high‑performing teams.
• Commercially astute with experience analysing financial performance and managing budgets.
• Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast‑paced environment.
