Deputy Regional Manager – Children’s Residential Services

About the role

The Deputy Regional Manager will support the Regional Manager in overseeing Children’s Residential Services across the Carlow and Kilkenny region. This senior position ensures service delivery aligns with national policy, manages risk, and drives continuous improvement within the agency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and support for all areas within the regional Children’s Residential Services portfolio.
• Govern and manage identified risks and escalations, ensuring compliance with national standards.
• Lead and manage regional teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Deliver services in line with national policy and standards, and manage any assigned national projects.
• Proactively manage delegated authority and drive change processes to align service delivery with policy direction.
• Contribute to regional and national working groups, policy formation, and project groups.
• Collaborate with regional leads and national service leads to ensure comprehensive access to Tusla services for service users.
• Participate in on‑call arrangements, including occasional weekend and evening cover.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior management within public or social services.
• Strong understanding of child protection, family support, and residential care frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage risk, governance, and change initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Capacity to work collaboratively across regional and national teams.
