Design Coordinator – Residential Development

About the role

We are looking for a Design Coordinator to support the design and delivery of residential schemes from pre‑construction through to handover. Working closely with architects, engineers, consultants and site teams, you will ensure that design information is accurate, coordinated and aligned with programme milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage design information throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, specialist consultants and subcontractors to secure timely delivery of design packages.
• Review drawings and technical documents to spot clashes, inconsistencies or buildability issues.
• Support the handling of RFIs and technical queries from site teams.
• Monitor design programmes and ensure key milestones are met.
• Attend design team meetings and contribute to project planning and coordination.
• Verify that designs comply with Building Regulations, planning conditions and project specifications.
• Facilitate the transition from design to construction and assist with design changes and value‑engineering exercises.
• Maintain accurate records of design information and project documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Building Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in site engineering, technical, project engineering or design coordination.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and residential building processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with common construction‑management software.
• Knowledge of BIM processes (advantageous but not essential).
