Design Engineer – Digital ASIC Design

About the role

The Microcontroller Sub‑System IP team is looking for a Design Engineer to create cutting‑edge digital blocks for a range of products, from IoT to automotive. You will join a multicultural, on‑site team in Cork and contribute to security, power‑management and other SoC functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design micro‑architecture for simple and complex digital blocks.
• Develop RTL code (Verilog/VHDL) handling multi‑clock, high‑frequency, low‑power and low‑latency requirements.
• Debug and support post‑silicon bring‑up activities.
• Produce clear design documentation.
• Optimize designs for area, power and performance.
• Collaborate with DFT, implementation, verification, emulation and firmware teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of ASIC design experience.
• Experience with complex digital logic design and multi‑power/multi‑clock domain architectures.
• Familiarity with ISAs such as ARM THUMB or RISC‑V.
• Understanding of processor/microcontroller system design.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation languages (Python, Perl).
• Knowledge of industry‑standard digital design tools and challenges of lower‑node technologies.
