Design Engineer – Medical Devices

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and verification of complex medical and diagnostic devices, focusing on injection‑moulded components. The role bridges mechanical, manufacturing, and biomedical engineering to bring products from concept to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and verify complex assemblies, sub‑assemblies, components and packaging.
• Create detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Generate design concepts, proposals and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Translate product requirements into clear specifications and prototypes.
• Select and review materials, conduct tolerance analysis and GD&T reviews.
• Implement design changes to improve performance, quality and cost.
• Contribute to risk assessments (PHA, FTA, dFMEA, uFMEA) and regulatory compliance (ISO 13485).
• Analyse data, investigate failures and develop corrective actions.
• Participate in technical meetings, presentations and research new technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in CAD modelling, preferably SolidWorks.
• Understanding of tolerance analysis, 2‑D drawings, GD&T and basic FEA (desirable).
• Knowledge of medical device regulations, especially ISO 13485.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and documentation skills.
