Deskside Support Engineer (Cork)

About the role

We are seeking a customer‑focused Deskside Support Engineer to join DXC Technology’s team in Cork. You will provide hands‑on support for desktops, printers, network and server hardware, ensuring a high‑quality experience for end‑users in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site deskside support to office users, resolving incidents and service requests efficiently.
• Take ownership of tickets escalated from the service desk, prioritising and handling them end‑to‑end.
• Build, deploy and patch PCs, network points and printers, and support standard software packages.
• Provide “Hands & Eyes” assistance for network and server hardware, including racking and troubleshooting.
• Document all activities in line with ITIL practices and contribute to knowledge‑base articles.
• Adhere to IT Asset Management, health & safety, and regulatory policies.
• Collaborate with global and offshore teams, offering on‑ground feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Ready to learn and tackle new challenges.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, global team.
• Experience in a highly regulated or ITIL‑based environment.

Required skills

• Desktop support experience (3+ years).
• Windows 11 troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Office 365 and other standard software packages.
• Network infrastructure knowledge (switches, routers, access points, patching, architecture).
• Server hardware support, including racking and hands‑on assistance.
• Printer hardware troubleshooting.
• PC building and deployment.
• Familiarity with ITIL ticketing systems and asset management procedures.
