Deskside Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Deskside Support Engineer to be the primary on‑site IT professional for our Cork office. Working closely with a central IT team in Dublin, you will deliver hands‑on support to end users and manage local IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑user support for hardware, software and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Configure and deploy laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripherals; maintain meeting‑room AV and conferencing equipment.
• Handle onboarding and off‑boarding, including device setup and access provisioning.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, Wi‑Fi, VPN) and liaise with Dublin IT on escalations.
• Support system rollouts, upgrades and maintain accurate asset records.
• Uphold IT security policies, assist with patching, compliance, endpoint management and raise security concerns.
• Document issues, update the internal knowledge base and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of professional IT support experience.
• Strong communicator with non‑technical users, self‑motivated and detail‑oriented.
• Calm under pressure, team player and able to work fully onsite in Cork.
• Valid Irish work permit (Stamp 4, Stamp 1G preferred).
