Despatch Operative

About the role

Dawn Meats, a leading premium meat processor, is seeking a Despatch Operative to join its busy production team at the Ballyhaunis facility. You will manage customer orders, ensuring goods are correctly unloaded, loaded and recorded using forklift and scanning equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the overall production and dispatch of customer orders.
• Operate forklift equipment for picking, packing and moving goods.
• Use scanning equipment to record inbound and outbound consignments for audit and traceability.
• Work in both chilled and ambient environments while maintaining a clean and tidy work area.
• Uphold high health and safety standards and meet targets set by the Shift Manager.
• Perform regular repetitive lifting of light, medium and heavy items.
• Adapt to flexible work demands and fulfil reasonable requests from the Shift Manager.

Required profile

• Forklift experience is an advantage (training provided if needed).
• Previous despatch or warehouse experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Good communication skills with fluent English, solid numeracy and literacy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Physically fit for regular lifting tasks.
• Team‑oriented with strong attention to detail.
• Available Monday‑Friday with one Saturday shift per month.
