DevOps Lead

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Lead to drive automation, reliability, and compliance for a pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Limerick. You will own the end‑to‑end DevOps toolchain and ensure seamless MES deployments across all environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for MES applications.
• Own source control, build automation, release management, environment provisioning, monitoring and observability.
• Define branching strategies, code‑review processes and release standards for a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with MES vendors, system integrators and internal teams to translate architecture into infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Lead environment management for MES platforms such as Syncade, ensuring version control and configuration compliance.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and logging to provide operational visibility.
• Drive shift‑left quality by embedding automated testing and robust quality gates.
• Support computer system validation (CSV) activities, maintaining audit trails and change‑control documentation.
• Manage infrastructure provisioning with focus on security, resilience and scalability.
• Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve deployment frequency, lead time and recovery metrics (DORA).
• Act as technical authority and escalation point for infrastructure and deployment issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a DevOps Lead or Senior DevOps Engineer on complex enterprise programmes.
• Strong hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, Ansible) and configuration management.
• Experience managing environments for large‑scale enterprise applications.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Deep knowledge of software delivery lifecycle, release management and change control.
• Background in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, life sciences, food & beverage) with CSV awareness.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills under pressure.
