Director of Quality, Compliance and Nursing

About the role

The organisation, a long‑established provider of services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, is seeking a senior healthcare leader to shape its quality, compliance and nursing functions. Reporting to senior management, the Director will drive a culture of person‑centred care, risk‑aware practice and continuous improvement across all services.

Key responsibilities

• Influence organisational strategy to embed quality, compliance and risk management.
• Lead governance structures, including the Quality Committee, to oversee safe and effective nursing care.
• Maintain a central register of policies, ensuring timely review, approval and alignment with national standards.
• Design and run a comprehensive audit programme covering clinical and non‑clinical areas.
• Develop a regulatory compliance preparedness programme and support managers in interpreting legislation.
• Assist line managers in launching quality‑improvement initiatives derived from audits, inspections and incident reports.
• Communicate quality initiatives across the organisation to promote shared learning.
• Oversee incident, complaint and risk management systems, including analysis of high‑risk events.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in healthcare, preferably within disability or autism services.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing quality and compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of national health standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cultural change.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
