Director, Site Reliability Engineering

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Site Reliability Engineering to lead its Distributed Platforms team in Europe. Based in the Dublin Tech Hub, you will own the operational presence across the region and drive global SRE initiatives such as automation, observability, monitoring, and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run the SRE operational presence for Europe.
• Serve as the regional owner and commander for operational incidents.
• Define, measure, and report key operational KPIs while maintaining ITSM metrics.
• Own a pillar of SRE maturity – automation/toil reduction, observability/monitoring, or operational resilience.
• Mentor engineers and foster a strong SRE mindset across the organization.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Linux, Windows, VMware and storage technologies.
• Experience administering container runtimes such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes.
• Proven track record managing an operations or SRE team.
• Familiarity with ITSM practices and incident management.
• Strong communication skills, capable of presenting to executive audiences.
