EHS Manager – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role
The EHS Manager will lead the Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability function for a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Ireland. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance with Irish legislation and drive the company’s ESG objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and promote a positive EHS culture across the site.
- Drive compliance with Irish EHS legislation and internal standards.
- Manage risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Lead contractor safety management programmes.
- Oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, water sampling and effluent treatment.
- Coordinate site EHS audits and inspections.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programmes.
- Champion site sustainability initiatives and support ESG reporting.
- Maintain EHS management systems and support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance.
- Chair EHS committees and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
Required profile
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Health or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Irish EHS legislation.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or highly regulated manufacturing.
- Proven track record managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Proficiency in risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective‑action implementation.
- Ability to lead contractor safety programmes and conduct EHS audits.
