Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the pre‑construction division of a leading European engineering contractor based in Dublin. The role will focus on de‑risking and value‑engineering large‑scale data‑center projects across Europe, working closely with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret design specifications, drawings and project scope to support pre‑construction activities.
• Assist in preparing estimates, tender documents and resource plans for tendered projects.
• Review MEP designs and propose alternative systems or methods to improve cost and performance.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
• Lead interface management among design consultants, architects, clients and subcontractors.
• Manage RIBA design processes, procurement packages and sub‑contract documentation.
• Analyse tender documentation for commercial risks, scope gaps and programme implications.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Promote innovative engineering practices to accelerate project delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of electrical design engineering experience, preferably on mission‑critical or data‑center projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Proven ability to work within multi‑disciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of MEP design, RIBA processes and procurement procedures.
