Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Utilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for delivering preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for critical utilities in a pharmaceutical environment. The role works on‑site, follows cGMP and safety standards, and collaborates closely with day‑shift, night‑shift and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with site EHS, Veolia EHS and cGMP rules.
• Execute scheduled work from the Maintenance & Calibration Lead and follow site policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot utilities equipment such as pumps, HVAC, compressors, boilers and steam systems.
• Complete and sign off site documentation before and after each task.
• Liaise with external contractors during planned service maintenance.
• Carry out risk assessments and keep them up to date.
• Review and update work instructions and SOPs regularly.
• Maintain housekeeping standards compatible with clean‑room requirements and apply 5S methodology.
• Support utilities reliability programmes and provide technical input for new projects.

Required profile

• Senior Trades qualification – City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical maintenance experience in a utilities environment.
• Good understanding of pumps, HVAC, compressors, boilers, steam, DHW skids, chillers, cooling towers, clean‑steam and purified‑water systems.
• Experience with low/medium voltage electrical systems and preventive maintenance programmes.
• Proficiency in a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Permit‑to‑Work procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, SOPs and GMP engineering documentation.
