Electrical Pre-Construction Manager

About the role

As an Electrical Pre‑Construction Manager you will lead the coordination and technical delivery of electrical services during the pre‑construction phase (RIBA Stages 3‑5) for a leading M&E contractor operating across the UK and Ireland. Working closely with clients, consultants and internal teams you will ensure designs are coordinated, compliant, buildable and commercially viable before site delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support and contribute to electrical design coordination throughout RIBA Stages 3‑5.
• Review electrical designs against specifications and employer requirements.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities to improve cost‑efficiency and buildability.
• Prepare and manage technical submittals and track design information.
• Collaborate with design consultants and internal teams to deliver coordinated designs.
• Assist in programme tracking through design deliverables and release schedules.
• Support procurement of electrical plant, equipment and specialist subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations and industry standards.
• Participate in client and design team meetings as part of the wider project team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years’ experience in electrical building services, either in a consultancy or contractor environment.
• Strong technical understanding of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data and security systems.
• Experience of design coordination, technical submissions or pre‑construction activities.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
