Engineering Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Engineering Maintenance Supervisor provides mechanical engineering expertise to ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective operation of the Lihir gold mine. You will work closely with production and maintenance teams to design, improve and sustain plant assets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering support for plant operations and maintenance.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost reliability, reduce downtime and lower lifecycle costs.
• Perform mechanical design from concept through execution.
• Manage OPEX projects within budget and schedule, including engineering trials to extend asset life.
• Participate in CAPEX projects as a stakeholder.
• Monitor performance metrics, prepare engineering reports and conduct loss analyses using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) standards.
• Assess asset criticality and develop strategies to improve equipment reliability.
• Champion change through Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Mentor tradespeople, planners and junior engineers, providing technical guidance.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience in mining or heavy‑industry environments.
• Proven ability to drive reliability and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Experience delivering OPEX projects and supporting CAPEX initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills for performance monitoring and failure investigation.
• Capability to mentor and guide technical staff.
