Engineering Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at a leading food manufacturing plant in Dublin. The role is highly strategic, focusing on Lean, continuous improvement and preventative maintenance programmes to maximise asset reliability and plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineering managers to ensure alignment and high performance across the plant.
• Maintain strong employee relations and collaborate with labour representatives on operational changes.
• Ensure high asset reliability, maximise uptime and minimise interruptions.
• Drive the site’s maintenance programme, optimising repairs and operations.
• Develop and implement a multi‑year engineering plan and annual operating plan.
• Introduce preventative maintenance principles, monitoring solutions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Perform any other duties required to ensure smooth plant operation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar engineering manager role within food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong leadership experience managing teams in a unionised environment.
• Demonstrated ability to implement Lean, continuous improvement and preventative maintenance strategies.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of maintenance and asset reliability in manufacturing settings.
• Relevant technical qualification or trade certification.
