English Language Tutor

About the role

OnCampus Ireland in Tralee is seeking a dedicated English Language Tutor to join its team on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis. You will support students in developing their English proficiency across a range of programme modules and prepare them for high‑stakes examinations such as IELTS and Cambridge exams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess students’ English language progress and provide targeted feedback.
• Develop and adapt teaching materials, assessment tools, and resources.
• Familiarise yourself with programme documentation, module guides and quality assurance policies.
• Deliver the approved curriculum using effective teaching and learning strategies under the guidance of the Head of English.
• Promote a respectful, safe, and supportive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain high standards of attendance, punctuality and professional conduct.

Required profile

• Minimum NFQ Level 8 degree (or equivalent).
• Recognised TEFL certification (CELTA, Trinity TESOL or QQI TESOL – NFQ Level 7).
• At least 2 years of experience teaching English and preparing candidates for IELTS or Cambridge exams.
• Demonstrated cross‑cultural awareness and a collaborative team mindset.
• Native‑speaker fluency in English with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Competence in the effective use of ICT for teaching and assessment.
