Equipment Engineer – 24/7 Shift (Kildare)

About the role

We are seeking an Equipment Engineer to join a leading materials engineering solutions provider. The role is based on‑site in Kildare and operates on a 24/7 shift pattern, offering the chance to work with cutting‑edge equipment used in chip and advanced display manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installation, qualification, preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electro‑mechanical issues using digital analytics and hand tools.
• Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Collaborate with Irish‑based customers to ensure successful equipment installations and ongoing performance.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to shift rota requirements.

Required profile

• Technical qualification (ideally Level 6) or equivalent industry experience.
• Practical hands‑on exposure to mechanical, electrical or electronic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagnose basic technical challenges.
• Full driving licence and unrestricted right to work in Ireland.
• Willingness to travel internationally for initial training and to work 24/7 shift patterns.

Required skills

• Mechanical, electrical and electronic systems knowledge.
• Pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum and thermodynamics basics.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
