About the role

Dogs Trust Ireland is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organisation into its next decade of impact. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering a strategic plan that expands income, enhances operational excellence, and strengthens the welfare of dogs across Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to increase impact and sustainable income.
• Lead the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring integrated responsibility for organisational delivery.
• Collaborate with the Dogs Trust UK Joint Executive Team to share learning and leverage group expertise.
• Oversee governance, income generation, public affairs, operational delivery, training and engagement functions.
• Drive fundraising initiatives and operational investments to maximise both impact and revenue.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience within a charity or nonprofit environment.
• Proven track record in governance, income generation, public affairs and operational delivery.
• Demonstrated heart‑centred leadership with compassion for staff and the mission.
• Ability to balance short‑term priorities with medium‑term strategic goals.
