Financial Accountant – Hybrid – Cork

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice located between Cork City and Killarney. This full‑time hybrid position offers the chance to work with leading national retail brands while leading a team of accountants and trainees.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review management accounts, focusing on gross‑margin variances and driving cost‑reduction actions.
• Evaluate and implement internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee working‑capital management to optimise cash flow and financial planning.
• Provide full financial control services to a portfolio of retail clients, including supermarkets and convenience stores.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of accountants and trainees, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with at least 3 years of experience, ideally in practice.
• Strong financial analysis, problem‑solving and client communication abilities.
• Proficiency in accounts preparation, financial reporting and IT systems.
• Demonstrated capability to train, manage and develop staff effectively.
• Retail sector experience is preferred but not essential.
