Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a leading privately‑owned Irish company in Westmeath. You will work closely with the CFO and senior leadership, providing financial insight that drives strategic decisions and supports the business’s growth trajectory.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and year‑end accounts.
• Create presentations and insightful financial analysis for senior management to support decision‑making.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and long‑term strategic plans.
• Collaborate with operational teams to deliver financial support and commercial insights.
• Monitor overheads and identify cost‑saving initiatives across the organisation.
• Drive efficiencies and continuous‑improvement projects within the finance function.
• Support the CFO on ad‑hoc commercial and strategic finance projects.
• Liaise with senior stakeholders and external advisors as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant.
• 8+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Training at a Big 4 or Top 10 practice.
• Industry experience in a commercial business.
• Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Ambitious individual seeking long‑term progression.
