Food Safety & Quality Manager

About the role

Oakpark Foods is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Manager to join its Cahir site. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will work with production and cross‑functional teams to ensure that all products and processes meet statutory, customer and internal quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with industry standards, regulations and certifications.
• Update and control quality documentation, including manuals, policies and procedures.
• Provide technical support to production to uphold and improve product safety and quality.
• Drive a "quality first" culture through collaboration with management and other departments.
• Monitor micro‑biological and chemical results, taking corrective action on out‑of‑specification findings.
• Oversee HACCP‑based production and cleaning processes and ensure traceability at all times.
• Manage internal audit programmes and implement corrective actions.
• Investigate customer complaints and lead corrective‑preventive actions.
• Train and mentor staff on quality control processes.
• Coordinate supplier quality, pest control, calibration and other specialist services.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Science/Technology.
• Previous experience in a similar food safety or quality role.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and food safety methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.

Required skills

• HACCP implementation and monitoring.
• Quality management systems (QMS) administration.
• Internal auditing and traceability management.
• Proficiency with MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook.
