Freelance Material Scientist (Python) – AI Trainer

About the role

This freelance opportunity involves creating and validating material‑science problems that are solved with Python. You will work on project‑based AI training tasks for leading tech companies, helping to test and improve AI systems that handle engineering calculations.

Key responsibilities

• Design original material‑engineering problems that reflect real‑world workflows.
• Develop problem statements that require Python programming for calculations, simulations, and iterative solutions.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and involve numerical methods, optimization, and system analysis.
• Base tasks on actual research challenges or practical engineering applications.
• Verify solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries, and provide clear documentation with correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Material Science or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in applied research, engineering, or teaching.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1 level or higher).
• Understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• NumPy, Pandas, SciPy.
• MATLAB, R, C, SQL.
• Domain‑specific engineering libraries and tools (e.g., Stata).
