Full Stack Engineer – Data‑Driven Platform

About the role

Our client is building a data‑driven technology platform and is looking for an experienced Full‑Stack Engineer to design, develop and scale backend services, APIs and customer‑facing functionality. You will work closely with engineering, data, product and machine‑learning teams to deliver a forecasting product that serves a growing customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Build modern web applications and contribute across the full technology stack.
• Develop and improve cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and engineering tooling.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists and product teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Ensure applications are reliable, secure and maintainable while supporting a growing user base.
• Optimise performance, scalability and system reliability.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and continuously improve engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment activities.

Required profile

• Commercial experience developing full‑stack applications using Python; exposure to Java, JavaScript or TypeScript is a plus.
• Strong understanding of backend development, RESTful APIs and modern web application architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS or Azure, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation and version control in production environments.
• Ability to design, build, deploy and support reliable software solutions while balancing technical quality with business priorities.
• Proven ability to contribute across both frontend and backend technologies and work wherever the greatest value is added.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with cross‑functional engineering, product or data teams.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, containerisation, observability, authentication, MLOps or modern software engineering practices is beneficial.
• Previous experience in a startup, scale‑up or product‑focused technology environment is advantageous but not essential.
