General Operative – Construction & Pharmaceutical Projects

About the role

We are looking for motivated General Operatives to join our Athlone team and support the delivery of a high‑value pharmaceutical project. You will work alongside skilled tradespeople on construction, industrial and pipework activities, ensuring a safe and efficient site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople and ensure required materials are available.
• Uncrate, weather‑proof and set up equipment.
• Support fabrication and installation of pipework and bracketry.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area at all times.
• Load and unload deliveries, move finished assets to storage.
• Follow risk assessments, method statements and obtain necessary permits before work.
• Carry out equipment checks and adhere to best‑practice safety procedures.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a General Operative on construction, industrial or pharmaceutical sites.
• Hands‑on experience with pipework fabrication and installation.
• Strong commitment to site safety, quality and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, milestone‑driven environment.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Safe Pass certification.
• Manual Handling competence.
