General Practitioner – GMS Contract with Partnership Path

About the role

We are seeking a qualified General Practitioner to join the General Medical Services (GMS) scheme in Ireland. The role involves delivering comprehensive primary‑care services to eligible patients on behalf of the Health Service Executive, with a view to partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide all necessary general‑practice treatments, preventive and developmental services to patients at the practice, at home, or other approved locations.
• Accept clinical responsibility for patients on your list, including referral to specialist care and follow‑up after discharge.
• Deliver care efficiently and economically, ensuring no discrimination between eligible and private patients.
• Issue certificates for illness, social‑welfare, and other statutory requirements as required.
• Utilise community, diagnostic and other support services when appropriate.
• Maintain up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and reside within reasonable access to the practice area.
• Co‑operate with the HSE on patient list changes and obtain approval before opening additional practice sites.

Required profile

• Registered medical practitioner qualified to work as a General Practitioner in Ireland.
• Holder of a GMS contract or eligible to obtain one.
• Willingness to reside in or have reasonable access to the designated practice area.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to HSE policies.
