Graduate Product Development Engineer (R&D)

About the role
Vertiv is seeking a recent engineering graduate to join its R&D team in Burnfoot, Ireland. You will work on the design and development of next‑generation busbar trunking systems, gaining hands‑on experience across the full product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in designing new products from concept through to launch.
- Create 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
- Contribute to product risk assessments (DFMEA) and participate in design reviews.
- Maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation in PLM systems.
- Identify improvement opportunities for existing products through engineering change processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Good communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Required skills
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks).
- Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Experience with PLM systems.
- Knowledge of DFMEA methodology.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC 61439 and UL857.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
