Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a fast‑growing automotive retail group in Ireland. This senior position partners directly with the Managing Director and Board, providing strategic financial insight to support expansion, new brand acquisitions, and overall profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial due diligence, feasibility modelling and investment appraisals for new locations and brand acquisitions.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate financial data into commercial initiatives across sales, fleet and after‑sales divisions.
• Prepare and deliver consolidated monthly management accounts, KPIs and variance analyses for the Board.
• Manage working capital, multi‑million euro funding facilities and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls, corporate governance and audit processes across all sites.
• Lead, mentor and develop a centralized finance team, fostering continuous improvement.
• Oversee statutory compliance, tax obligations (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax) and corporate reporting.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA) with significant post‑qualification experience.
• Proven senior finance leadership in the automotive or motor‑retail sector, preferably with multi‑site, multi‑franchise exposure.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to assess and mitigate expansion risks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
