Group General Ledger Accountant

About the role

The Group General Ledger Accountant joins the Group Statutory Reporting and Technical Accounting team at AMCS, a sustainability‑focused software specialist. Reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, the role contributes to the preparation of consolidated and local statutory financial statements while supporting the evolving controllership function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare consolidation adjustments, group journals, eliminations and related disclosures.
• Coordinate the production of local statutory financial statements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Liaise with external auditors during statutory audits.
• Own assigned General Ledger areas, prepare journals and reconciliations, and support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues, ensuring accurate GL postings.
• Conduct technical accounting assessments, draft accounting memos and position papers, and interpret IFRS/FRS standards.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and policies, maintaining audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Either newly qualified or 1–3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting foundation with curiosity and adaptability.
• Interest in finance transformation, automation and lean ways of working.
