Head of Human Resources

About the role

The Law Society of Ireland is seeking a senior HR leader to head its Human Resources function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, Operations & HR, you will act as a trusted strategic advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and drive the people, culture and organisational development agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the HR function across people strategy, organisational design, employee relations and workforce planning.
• Develop and implement a forward‑looking people strategy aligned with the Society’s 2024‑2028 strategic ambitions.
• Provide senior‑level advice and support to the Executive Leadership Team on leadership development, engagement and governance.
• Manage HR operations, compliance, risk management and governance frameworks.
• Drive organisational change initiatives and influence culture transformation.
• Oversee budgeting, resource planning and stakeholder relationships across the organisation.

Required profile

• Significant senior HR leadership experience, preferably in professional services or a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practice.
• Proven track record of leading teams, managing budgets and delivering organisational change.
• Excellent communication and senior stakeholder influencing skills.
• Sound judgement, resilience and a collaborative leadership style.
• CIPD membership preferred.
