Head of Human Resources

About the role

The Law Society of Ireland is seeking a senior leader to head its Human Resources function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, Operations & HR, you will act as a strategic advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and drive people, culture and organisational development during a pivotal growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end HR function, including people strategy, organisational design and HR operations.
• Develop and implement workforce planning, employee relations and leadership development programmes.
• Partner with senior leaders to shape culture, strengthen capability and deliver the Society’s Strategic Ambitions 2024‑2028.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure robust governance, compliance and risk management across HR.
• Oversee budgetary responsibilities and drive organisational change initiatives.

Required profile

• Significant senior HR leadership experience, preferably in professional services or a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practice.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets and deliver organisational change.
• Excellent communication, influencing skills and a collaborative leadership style.
• CIPD membership is preferred.
