Head of Information Technology

About the role

We are seeking a senior IT leader to drive the delivery of secure, reliable, and business‑focused technology services for our client in Listowel, County Kerry. The role combines strategic planning, operational management, and technology transformation to ensure IT capabilities align with organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organisation’s IT strategy, aligning technology investments with business priorities.
• Manage relationships with outsourced IT service providers, ensuring compliance with contracts, SLAs, KPIs and service quality.
• Lead capital projects such as office fit‑outs, infrastructure upgrades and technology refresh programmes, delivering on time and within budget.
• Oversee implementation, optimisation and governance of ServiceNow and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
• Manage and develop field technicians and support teams to provide effective onsite and nationwide service.
• Monitor IT performance metrics and drive continual service improvement, including incident, problem and change management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify technology requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Control IT budgets, procurement, vendor relationships and technology contracts.
• Ensure robust cybersecurity, risk management, compliance and business continuity practices.
• Deliver infrastructure, application and digital transformation initiatives while mentoring staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of IT experience, including 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience managing outsourced providers and enterprise service management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL and service management practices.
• Experience in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure and regulated environments.
• Relevant certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP or Agile.
