Healthcare Assistant (Part‑Time/Full‑Time)

About the role

CareChoice is expanding its Dungarvan nursing home and seeks compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join a multicultural team. The role offers both part‑time and full‑time options, allowing you to develop your care skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support nursing staff in delivering holistic, high‑quality care to residents.
• Maintain residents' hygiene and personal care while respecting dignity.
• Assist with eating, drinking and nutrition needs.
• Help residents mobilise safely using appropriate aids.
• Escort or transfer residents as directed by nursing staff.
• Provide assistance in end‑of‑life care when required.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by nurses or management.

Required profile

• QQI/FETAC qualification or equivalent experience in a similar care setting.
• Practical caring experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional, caring and empathetic attitude.
• Comfortable in a challenging environment.
• Good English language proficiency.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights and weekends.
