Hotel Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially‑minded Hotel Controller to lead the finance function of The Tullamore Court Hotel. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Group Finance team, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing accurate reporting, commercial insight and strong financial controls to drive the hotel’s operational and financial success.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day finance operation, preparing monthly management accounts, forecasts and annual budgets.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support decision‑making and improve profitability.
• Monitor revenue, payroll, departmental costs, margins and overall financial performance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, cash controls and banking.
• Maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with company policies, VAT, tax and audit requirements.
• Manage balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments and capital‑expenditure monitoring.
• Coordinate year‑end accounts, external audits and statutory reporting.
• Lead, support and develop the hotel finance team and collaborate on group‑wide projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller or senior hotel finance professional.
• Recognised accounting qualification or equivalent finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and management accounting.
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance and audit requirements.
• Effective communication skills, able to explain financial information to non‑finance colleagues and senior leaders.
