Hotel Financial Controller

About the role

The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Limerick is seeking an experienced, commercially‑focused Hotel Financial Controller to lead the finance function. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Group Finance team, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing accurate reporting, commercial insight and strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations of the hotel’s finance function.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts and annual budgets.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support decision‑making.
• Monitor revenue, payroll, departmental costs, margins and overall profitability.
• Partner with the General Manager and department heads to improve financial performance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, cash controls and banking.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Manage balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Support payroll administration and ensure accuracy of payroll‑related financial information.
• Monitor capital expenditure and support business cases for hotel investment.
• Coordinate year‑end accounts, external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax and other financial obligations.
• Lead, support and develop members of the hotel’s finance team.
• Collaborate with the Group Finance team on collection‑wide projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller or in a senior hotel finance role.
• A recognised accounting qualification or significant relevant finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and management accounting.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of financial controls, compliance and audit requirements.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain financial information to non‑finance colleagues.
• Confidence working with senior leaders and operational department heads.
